About Us
Our Philosophy
Froebel’s International School was founded in 1975 with 10 students, 4 teachers and a vision. Our founder, Mrs. Sabiha Zamir Khan’s vision for education has been to provide students with the academic and personal skills that would prepare them to be productive members of society; confident, well-spoken, adaptable thinkers who are able to positively contribute to whichever field they choose. Current research shows that this is exactly the kind of learning that schools must emphasise. Since its humble beginnings in a portion of a house, Froebel’s has expanded into several cities while the Head Office remains in Islamabad. Despite the growth in the organisation, our philosophy remains the same. Over the past four decades, our school network has expanded to 8 campuses in 5 cities with faculty strength touching nearly 400. Today we stand proudly as a premier educational institution providing academic, sporting, extracurricular and social platforms for generations of students. Froebel’s offers a comprehensive and challenging curriculum for all students in our care, from the youngest 6-week-old in Daycare all the way up to our 18-year-old young adults in A Levels. Our highly qualified, dynamic and enthusiastic staff mentors boys and girls helping them to grow not only academically but also personally. More responsibility is given to our senior students in the form of student societies, extracurricular activities, internship opportunities and community service programmes. By providing a carefully designed balance between freedom and supervision, the school faculty and administration aim to enable students to achieve a smooth transition into higher education and adult life. Froebel’s success is a result of dedicated teaching staff, diligent students, committed parents and devoted school personnel.
We emphasise: 1. Hands on active learning opportunities outside of the classroom 2. Individual attention – personally knowing our students, their interests, strengths and weaknesses 3. Innovation in teaching and learning 4. Aesthetically pleasing learning environments 5. Strong moral values of honesty, integrity and respect
Vision
Froebel’s aims to develop a teaching and learning community whose members are personally fulfilled, interdependent, socially responsible adults, able to thrive in a complex, interconnected, ever-changing world.
Mission
Froebel’s is committed to developing lifelong learners with a strong moral fibre, instilling our core values of Build, Lead, Uplift and Excel (BLUE) in every member of our community through a well-rounded education in a safe, supportive and respectful environment.
Centre for Professional Development
Froebel’s Centre for Professional Development (CPD) imparts a quality and effective in-house training programme that facilitates its teachers across all campuses for ongoing learning and provides face to face and online opportunities for reflection of their teaching practices. CPD fosters and encourages lifelong learning while utilising emerging learning technologies that open new opportunities for learning how to teach and the ways in which our students learn. Our vision is to focus on capacity development of teaching staff at Froebel’s International School and provide subject refreshers, competency based training and effective pedagogical strategies which in turn benefit the Froebel’s student community. CPD’s mission is:
Identification of demands as determined by the strategic and operational directions of the Board of Directors Planning and development of resources and interventions for building capacity of teachers Facilitation of these interventions Promotion of the aims of the Centre through our website, publications, conferences, workshops, lectures and other gatheringsDissemination of innovative ideas through teaching and learning in ODL praxisCampus Support
A successful institution is a growing institution. Froebel’s International School has expanded its operations and different branches have been established not only in Rawalpindi and Islamabad but other cities as well. In wake of these changes, a need for a team of professionals was felt that could support a campus head academically and administratively for quality assurance and student as well as parent satisfaction. Since the set up of the department, the members of the campus support team are responsible to evaluate the existing curriculum and design future curriculum that caters to modern academic requirements. They also plan and implement on-going training sessions and assist campuses in following school policies for maximizing student growth and achievements.
